The Commitment You’ll Make

We rely on the active participation of every Member to power our Mission and achieve our community goals.

  • To help you manage your time and commitments, all General Membership Meetings (GMMs) and Committee Meetings are held exclusively on Wednesdays. Regular attendance at your assigned meetings is crucial for staying informed and engaged.
  • A fundamental aspect of Membership is actively contributing on a League Committee or in another League role. This is where you put your interests and abilities to work, from fundraising and communications to direct community programming.
  • You’ll complete your New Member Education—through a Super Saturday orientation or our online modules—to fully understand our Mission, history, and operational success.

  • Join a prestigious, international organization with a history of positive social change. Your Membership links you to a worldwide network of women, and offers the benefit of transferring your Membership to any other League should you need to move.

Becoming a JLSJ Member is easy!

  1. Create Your Profile: A quick and simple first step.
  2. Tell Us About You: A short survey helps us learn about your passions and interests.
  3. Pay Your Dues: Your first-year dues are prorated based on the date you join our League:
  • June 1 – August 31: $195.00
  • September 1 – November 30: $146.25
  • December 1 – February 28: $97.50
  • March 1 – May 31: $48.75

To ensure Membership is accessible, we offer flexible payment plans for all Members. After your New Member year, annual dues return to our standard rate of $195.

As a New Member, you can look forward to:

  • Flexible Onboarding: Learn about the League, community needs, and civic leadership at your own pace.
  • Instant Connections: Meet and bond with fellow Members through engaging trainings, fun social events, and collaborative activities.
  • Manageable Time Commitment: While commitment is key, we design it to fit into your life. Expect to dedicate about 4–10 hours per month for all training, meetings, and Committee work.
